day 3

Today has been the best adventure so far!  We took a tour of 3 major locations, but the best was by far what the Incas call the sacred city.  Beautiful scenery surrounded us as we walked through almost 500 years old ruins.  If you're into seeing ancient worlds surrounded by the beginning of our sky, then this is definitely the tour for you.  It's literally the most beautiful place that I've ever been.  The best part however, is that apparently Machu Pichu is better...

more tomorrow.

day 2

welcome to Peru day number 2!  Today we were scheduled to go on a tour of the city, but there were TORRENTIAL downpours.  It was alright though because I got to nap :)  I love my pops, but his snore is likened unto a chainsaw.  I think we've figured out a way around it though.  Tonight I'm going to sleep first, then he'll follow.  Hopefully I'll get enough rest before we do the sacred city tour tomorrow.  It's going to be awesome.
I am having a fantastic time! Every resturaunt we've been to has been delicious.  Even the peruvian version of fast food was good.  It's called bembos, and their burgers are WAY better than ours. I found a resturaunt called "el gusto es nuestro" on a travel guide via the internet.  We're going to try it tomorrow.  If you love food (who doesn't) cusco is apparently the place to be :)
The altitude doesn't really bother me that much anymore, which is nice.  I can walk all day now, and I feel fine.  I'm coming for you Machu Pichu.

day 1 of actual peru

First day of Peru, besides the brief stay in a lima hostel was in cusco! It was beautiful.  It’s literally as if we’re staying in the sky.  You know 12,000 bc in chrono trigger?  Imagine that except it’s real.
So far we’ve just walked around cusco for a little bit, but tonight we’re gonna get some food and enjoy some rest.  Flying for days is tiring.  Walking around is tiring too, but only because of the altitude.  We are literally 4300 meters above sea level.
I’m super excited for Machu Pichu! Hopefully walking around cusco will build the necessary resilience to this altitude.  We got here 4 days early to get used to it.  So I think we’ll be fine.
That’s all for today! More tomorrow...
